I Apologize

Meditation by the sea

I apologize to you.

Yes, you.

And you.

Oh and most especially you.

I did what I thought I needed to do in that moment for my highest good. If I had it to do over, I would do it a bit differently. I learned from it though. While I know that what I did was for my highest good, I see now how I could've done it differently. I didn't know then the words I know now, that would've better described what I was feeling and needing.

When we try to do the best we know how to do, it still won't be perfect. Ten years from now I might learn even better words or have an even different perspective on the past than I do now. But for right now, I just wanted to take a moment to say "I apologize" to you.

If I caused you harm in doing what was best for me, I apologize.

If I caused you harm in figuring out what was best for me, I apologize.

If I caused you harm before knew to even try to figure out what was best for me, I apologize.

I apologize to you.

Yes, you.

And you.

And most especially myself, because before I was figuring out what was best for me, I was harming myself most of all.
