I Forgive You...

I forgive you. Yes, you.
And you.
Oh and especially you.
I know you did what you thought you needed to do in the moment. I know that it had nothing to do with me. I know that it was all about you. Your fears. Not mine. I was just a tool through which your lesson was administered.
I had my own lesson to learn as well. This is perhaps the closing of that lesson. The forgiveness. The letting go. The expression of my understanding that nothing you did was of any consequence, but instead served only to make me stronger. Today, because of what you did, I can look in the mirror and be proud of all I've come through. I can proudly say I've never done to anyone else, what I experienced from you. I can proudly say that I made the choice to take a bad experience and used it to make me a better person. A stronger person. A compassionate person.
I didn't let your words or deeds stick to my soul like tattoos. No. I took pieces I thought had broken and made a beautiful mosaic. I used the pain and turned it into bold colors that light up my life like a masterpiece in a gallery. I took everything you gave me and used it to create the highest version of myself.
So not only do I forgive you, I thank you. Because I am quite amazing, due in small part, to you.
And you.
Oh and especially you...
But most of all...
ME!
